John Tramburg was recently named Vita Plus executive vice president. He has led safety, operations, grain/brokering and transportation teams since 2020. As executive vice president, Tramburg will be leading the company’s strategic capital investments to better serve customers.
(Madison, Wis.) – Four Vita Plus employee owners will take on new roles and responsibilities within the company. The strategic changes will position Vita Plus for continued growth and success as it provides feed, nutrition, and management expertise to dairy and livestock producers. In addition, Alan Gunderson will retire from his role as Vita Plus vice president of sales and marketing.
Vita Plus employee owners not only serve livestock farms in rural communities throughout the Midwest, but they also live and raise their families in those communities. Bob Hagenow, Jon Rasmussen, and Trace Lopez are three employee owners who log many service hours every year, provide leadership to various organizations and service projects, contribute to the agriculture industry, and use their passions to make a positive difference.
Vita Plus has offered several dairy technology, nutrition and management internships to students in past years. These internships focus on specific projects and give students independent responsibilities, as well as opportunities, to collaborate with and learn from Vita Plus staff, dairy producers, and industry peers.

As part of this commitment, Vita Plus announces the launch of the Serving Customers & Rural Communities Project. Through this project, Vita Plus will contribute $100,000 to support food security initiatives in rural communities.
(Madison, Wis.) Ariana Negreiro was recently selected as the Vita Plus dairy nutrition and management fellowship student at Michigan State University. Negreiro is the sixth student to participate in the program. She will spend two summers and two semesters earning her master’s degree in dairy science while simultaneously gaining experience in dairy nutrition and management consulting. Vita Plus will fund the credits throughout the duration of the experience in return for the research and project support she will provide.

(Madison, Wis.) – Sabrina Portner was selected as the 2017 Vita Plus summer calf intern. Based in the Madison, Wisconsin, Portner will work with Vita Plus field staff and dairy farms across the Midwest to perform a dairy cattle maternity management audit while gaining a greater understanding of the feed and livestock industry. The goals of her project are to identify the most important factors that lead to a smooth transition for the cow and a healthy start to life for the calf.
(Madison, Wis.) Marin Western was recently selected as the Vita Plus dairy nutrition and management fellowship student at Michigan State University. Western will spend three semesters and a summer earning her master’s degree while simultaneously gaining experience in dairy nutrition and management consulting. (Madison, Wis.) Meghan Connelly was recently selected as the Vita Plus dairy nutrition and management fellowship student from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Connelly is the fourth student to participate in the program. She will gain experience in dairy nutrition and management consulting spanning three semesters and a summer. Vita Plus will fund the credits throughout the duration of the experience in return for the research and project support she will provide.
(Madison, Wis.) – Three students will gain experience in the feed business and dairy management this summer as Vita Plus interns. They are Chelsea Daines, Iowa State University; Amber Johnson, University of Minnesota; and Marin Western, Michigan State University. They will work on different teams, focusing on specific projects for the duration of the summer, while learning the values of Vita Plus.
