Intern with Vita Plus
Internships can be great springboards for students to launch their future careers. Internships can help students learn more about the daily responsibilities of a job, the culture of a company and how that influences the work employees do, and network with professionals actively engaged in the industry.
Vita Plus employee owners recognize the mutual value an internship can bring to both a student and a company. In fact, several current employee owners started as Vita Plus interns.
Vita Plus has offered several dairy technology, nutrition and management internships to students in past years. These internships focus on specific projects and give students independent responsibilities, as well as opportunities to collaborate with and learn from Vita Plus staff, dairy producers, and industry peers.
For example, this past summer, Brock Irwin, a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, worked as an intern with Vita Plus dairy consultants in Minnesota. He investigated the influence of dietary factors on robotic milking system productivity, as well as the labor efficiency of these systems. Vanessa Roberts, a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, worked with Vita Plus Loyal dairy consultants to investigate strategies for predicting dietary energy.
Vita Plus has also offered internships in production, distribution, IT, marketing, and other operations in past years, depending on team needs and project availability.
If you are interested in a Vita Plus internship in 2021, email your cover letter and resume to Marjorie Stieve.
