Ratka Named Vita Plus Dairy Technical Sales Specialist (October 2014)

(Madison, Wis.) – Dr. Kevin Ratka recently joined the Vita Plus team as a dairy technical sales specialist.  Based in central Minnesota, Ratka will work closely with fellow dairy consultants to troubleshoot on-farm challenges and provide technical leadership to the dairy sales team.  He will use his expertise to apply the latest research in a practical manner to help producers be more profitable on their dairies.  Ratka will also assist in the education, training and development of dairy consultants in the area.

Ratka earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and continued there to earn his D.V.M. with an emphasis in large animal medicine in 1999.  He started his career at a veterinary clinic in central Wisconsin before returning to central Minnesota.  He has practiced veterinary medicine in Minnesota for the past 10 years, conducting herd health programs, ultrasounds and treatment protocols.  He was also very involved with dairy record analyses.  Ratka volunteers with the Cold Spring Flyers 4-H Club and serves as a Stearns County 4-H Dairy Judging and Dairy Knowledge Bowl assistant.
