McLain Named Vita Plus Dairy Specialist (September 2020)

(Madison, Wis.) – Kyle McLain recently joined Vita Plus as a dairy specialist in northern Wisconsin.  He will utilize cutting-edge ration formulation software to provide high-quality rations and solutions to help dairy producers reach their production goals.  In addition, McLain will stay up to date on current industry research to provide on-farm technical support for the northern Wisconsin dairy team.

McLain grew up on his family’s Angus and Hereford beef cattle farm in Maine.  He attended the University of New Hampshire and received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical science and veterinary sciences.  At the University of New Hampshire, McLain was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, worked at the University Dairy and Research Center, and performed research studying rumen-protected amino acids.  McLain then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a master’s student in ruminant nutrition.  His research focused on the impacts feeding high rumen undegradable protein byproducts had on dairy cattle performance and energy utilization.  In addition, McLain has experience in dairy consulting and with most ration formulation and dairy management software programs.
