(Madison, Wis.) – Kim Bremmer was recently recognized as the 2014 Outstanding Woman in Agriculture by the Association of Women in Agriculture (AWA) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Bremmer earned her bachelor’s degree from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UW-Madison and was an active AWA member as a student.  She currently works as a dairy consultant at Vita Plus Loyal, bringing cutting-edge research and technology to dairy farmers to help improve their farms’ nutrition and management programs.  Bremmer is also an active member of the Southern Wisconsin Agricultural Group, CommonGround and Wisconsin Women for Agriculture.  She and her husband, Darin, have two children and live in Greenwood, Wisconsin.

Bremmer’s work in empowering women and promoting agriculture led to her recognition for this award.  At Vita Plus, Bremmer created the annual “Chick Day” event that has grown to include more than 100 women from Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.  In the last six years, Chick Day has raised more than $20,000 for several charities.  Through volunteer organizations, Bremmer serves as an agriculture spokeswoman.  She has met with legislators to discuss agricultural issues and also works with many consumers across the country to discuss modern food production.  Locally, Bremmer volunteers for many FFA Food for America programs in Clark County, organizes United Way school supply drives, and helps plan the annual “Fore the Kids” Golf Outing to benefit Marshfield Clinic’s Children’s Advocacy Fund.
