Blackburn Named Vita Plus Agronomy and Forage Specialist (April 2021)

(Madison, Wis.) – Ashley Blackburn recently joined Vita Plus as an agronomy and forage specialist.  Based in Loyal and Kennan, Wisconsin, Blackburn will provide on-farm agronomy expertise across all areas including nutrient management plans, fertilizer application and spraying.  In addition, she will work closely with members of the Vita Plus Loyal and Vita Plus Kennan teams to share her forage expertise and support forage product sales with area farmers and custom harvesters.

Blackburn attended Kansas State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in agronomy in 2015 and a master’s degree in agronomy – precision agriculture in 2017.  As a student at Kansas State Blackburn got extensive field research experience assisting with numerous fields, soil and plant growing trials.  She also managed undergraduate assistants and led research trials encompassing the latest agronomy technology tools. Most recently Blackburn worked as the North Central Nutrient and Pest Management Outreach Specialist for the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Division of Extension, based out of Marshfield, Wisconsin.
