This Makes My Life Easier: Newborn Calf Warming Room

This past winter, the team at Jauquet’s Hillview Dairy LLC in Luxemburg, Wisconsin, completed an addition on its cross-ventilated barn.  The addition, which is next to the maternity pens, includes two heated newborn calf warming rooms.

Stacy Jauquet said, “I think one of the biggest advantages of these rooms is that the calf’s body temperature does not drop while it dries off during the cold months.  Calves seem more active and willing to start moving around, which aids in calf drying time and mobility.”
