(Madison, Wis.)  Ron Skoyen was recently named the Vita Plus Dodgeville assistant manager.  Skoyen will work closely with the Vita Plus Dodgeville team to oversee daily plant operations and customer service.  In addition, Skoyen will be involved in all financial planning decisions and he will continue to help the team exceed all safety and quality initiatives.

Skoyen attended the Farm and Industry Short Course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before receiving his bachelor’s degree in business administration at UW-Eau Claire.  After working for several years as a partner on his family’s farm and as a supervisor at the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center (USDFRC), Skoyen pursued his master’s degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University.  He was soon promoted to dairy herd manager at the USDFRC and increased the rolling herd average from 26,854 pounds of milk on 378 cows to 31,500 pounds on 405 cows in less than four years.  He most recently worked as the manager of the Iowa State University Dairy Farm and saved 25 percent in labor costs by restructuring the labor department to use students and fulltime employees more efficiently instead of temporary employees.
