Goldsmith named Vita Plus dairy specialist

(Madison, Wis.) – Katelyn Goldsmith recently joined Vita Plus as a dairy specialist. She will be based in southern Wisconsin providing nutrition and management expertise to help dairy producers reach their production goals. In addition, she will remain up to date on cutting-edge technologies to better serve customers now and in the future.

Goldsmith grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Earlville, Iowa, where her family continues to dairy. Goldsmith recently completed her master’s degree in dairy cattle nutrition at Michigan State University. Her research focused on quantifying the effect of new probiotic products on milk production, digestibility, nutrient partitioning and feed efficiency. She received her bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University in dairy science where she was an undergraduate research assistant helping to collect and manage milking animal research data, calf health information, and necropsies data for ongoing research. Goldsmith has experience from other industry internships and was active throughout her college years in the American Dairy Science Association, attending conferences and providing leadership at the university and regional level.
