Although feeding Holstein steers for beef has been a common practice for many years, little data exists on their growth and performance over extended days on feed. However, they are known to have a 13-percent poorer average daily gain (ADG) and 4 percent less feed-to-gain (F:G) when compared to beef steers fed to similar weights.
